Record breaking Grade 2 winner Lewis Michael is one of the most talented and versatile runners of his era, and from one of the most active families in racing today.

Lewis Michael performed at the highest levels natiowide, ages two through five. He won stakes from seven furlongs to 1 3/16 miles; he was a stakes winner on the turf at two; he was a Classic hopeful who competed with Barbaro at three; he won a $300,000 Grade 2 on all-weather at four; and he broke a seven-furlong main track record winning a Grade 2 at Del Mar at five.

Equally important, he is the most significant son of Blushing Groom's son Rahy to stand in North America.

Lewis Michael began his career in August of his juvenile season. A homebred racing for Chicago-based owner Frank Calabrese, he ran four times, with two wins and two seconds, at Keeneland, Arlington, and Churchill Downs. He closed out his two-year-old season with a 1 1/4-length victory in the Grand Canyon Stakes on turf at Churchill.

Lewis Michael opened his three-year-old season by tackling undefeated Barbaro in the $100,000 Tropical Park Derby-G3. He ran third that day, beaten just 4 1/2 lengths by the eventual Kentucky Derby-G1 Champion, while signaling his readiness for graded stakes competition.

Lewis Michael would make nine starts at nine tracks at three, on dirt, turf, and synthetics. He ran one of the fastest miles of the year in the Midwest, winning by 8 1/4 lengths at Arlington in 1:34.10. He also ran second by a neck in the Peter Pan S.-G2 on dirt at Belmont, second to Champion Midnight Lute at Keeneland, and third in the $250,000 St. Louis Derby on dirt to Champion Lawyer Ron.

At four, Lewis Michael blazed to an easy victory in his debut, running a mile on turf at Gulfstream in 1:34.09. He next defeated Champion Midnight Lute in a Grade 2 at Keeneland, and Grade 1 winner Purim and millionaire Fort Prado in a Grade 3 at Arlington, before putting together two dominant races in a two-week span over the all-weather surface at Arlington.

Prepping for the $300,000 Washington Park H.-G2, Lewis Michael won a one-mile allowance by seven lengths and came out of it like a tiger. Fourteen days later, he ran like the odds-on favorite he was, gliding to a 4 3/4-length vic- tory under top weight in the prestigious stakes.

Lewis Michael finished the year running fourth in the Goodwood S.-G1 at Santa Anitaposting his fifth consecu- tive Triple Digit Beyerand fifth in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile to Corinthian, in the slop.

His last season, Lewis Michael set a new track record in the $300,000 Pat O'Brien H.-G2 at Del Mar. He sped 2/5 faster than the previous track record, while defeating reign- ing Sprint Champion and two-time Breeders' Cup Sprint-G1 winner Midnight Lute by nearly eight lengths.

Lewis Michael concluded his racetrack career with earn- ings of $811,714. On the board in 17 of 23 starts, he was a contender in three straight Breeders' Cups.

Lewis Michael comes from a live, champion and sire-producing family. His dam, multiple stakes winner Justenuffheart, has now produced three graded stakes win- ners of a combined $3.1 million from her first three foals to race: Lewis Michael; his full sister, Champion Dreaming of Anna; his half brother, multiple graded stakes winner Justenuffhumor.

Dreaming of Anna won nine stakes races including the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies-G1, and was voted the Eclipse Award as Champion Two-Year-Old. Justenuffhumor won his first six starts of 2009 for Darley, and ran third in the Breeders' Cup Mile-G1.

This family just keeps getting stronger. Lewis Michael's dam is half sister to Champion and top five Freshman Sire Kitten's Joy and Grade I winner and Eclipse finalist Precious Kitten. The first four dams are stakes producers, and the fifth is granddam of Spectacular Bid.

Rahy stood his entire career at Three Chimneys before being pensioned in 2009. By far the best son of Blushing Groom to stand in North America, Rahy is represented by 85 stakes winners as a sireincluding 2009 two-year-old Breeders' Cup winner Pouncedand 90 more as a broodmare sire. With his name prominent in the pedigrees of Giant's Causeway, Posse, Fantastic Light, Shamardal and now Lewis Michael, Rahy's impact is assured for generations.

Lewis Michael...Record-breaking Grade 2 winner with graded stakes ability on dirt, turf, and synthetics; the most significant son of Rahy to stand in North America; full brother to a Champion out of a half sister to a Champion; outcross to Northern Dancer, Mr. Prospector and Seattle Slew...his first foals arrive in 2010
