Mystic Storm weaved her way to victory in a six-furlong maiden special weight race on Oct. 14 at Hawthorne, getting to the wire first by a half-length over Blocks of Magic (WATCH RACE).
The filly’s win was just part of a very nice week for Sharp Azteca that also included Alma Rosa scoring in the $100,000 White Clay Creek S. and Precious Meadow placing in a Grade 3 race in Puerto Rico.
Mystic Storm is the 23rd winner for Sharp Azteca, which tops all First-Crop sires.
The bay filly was in post 1 and held her spot along the fence for most of the race. She had to alter course with a furlong to run, going around two pacesetters with a good burst of energy and finishing nicely to get the win.
Mystic Storm is owned by Wolfe Racing LLC and Hugh Robertson, the latter also her trainer. She was bred by Hedberg Hall, Inc.
