Three Chimneys Farm will host its November open house and stallion show Tuesday through Friday, Nov. 8-12.
The farm’s seven stallions, headlined by the Gun Runner, the leading Second-Crop sire and top-five General Sire of 2022, will be available for inspection each day from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch will be served daily.
Gun Runner was the champion First-Crop sire of 2021 and has had an even better year in 2022. He leads the Second-Crop list in every major statistical category. He has a remarkable 17 graded stakes horses, four of them Grade 1 winners, with progeny earnings topping $13.2 million to date.
Grade 1 winner Sharp Azteca has had a terrific 2022 with his first crop of runners. Currently leading the Freshman Sire list with 28 individual winners, Sharp Azteca stakes winners include the brilliantly fast Tyler’s Tribe, Alma Rosa and Sharp Aza Tack.
Volatile, the winner of the Alfred G. Vanderbilt S. (G1) and the fastest sprinter of 2020, stood his second season at Three Chimneys in 2022. He continues to be very popular with breeders, covering 157 mares this year.
Will Take Charge, the champion 3-year-old male of 2013, leads the 2022 Fifth-Crop Sire list in several categories, most notably by graded stakes winners, graded stakes horses, and stakes winners.
Funtastic, by the late More Than Ready, is a half-brother to Horse of the Year Saint Liam as well as the dam of Gun Runner. A Grade 1 winner at 11 furlongs, Funtastic’s first crop of runners have proven themselves at two turns as well.
Palace Malice had a Breeders’ Cup winner in his first crop and is a top-10 Fourth-Crop sire by winners. His biggest crop to date will be 2-year-olds of 2023.
Sky Mesa the veteran of the Three Chimney’s roster, has more than 70 lifetime stakes winners and 140 stakes horses lifetime. The sire of five champions, Sky Mesa continues to get stakes-quality horses on both dirt and turf.
