Rojo Rita rolled to a 16 1/4-length debut maiden special weight win Nov. 15 at Gulfstream Park to become the third TDN Rising Star for top-10 First-Crop sire Volatile.
The chestnut filly clicked off early fractions of :22.19 and :46.40 and turned for home a three-length leader. Getting her cue at the top of the stretch, she rocketed clear of the field as she widened her insurmountable margin all the way to the wire, finishing the six furlongs in 1:11.43 on a fast track.
Rojo Rita is owned by Kamil Ozhan and was bred by Glen Oak Farm and Two Stamps Stable. Her multiple stakes-placed dam D’ya Knowwhatimean has produced four winners, including graded stakes-placed Answer In.
Volatile has a total of 21 winners to date, including the Grade 1-placed duo of Tip Top Thomas and Incentive Pay. Volatile will stand the 2025 season for $12,500 LFSN.
