Top-five First-Crop sire Volatile chalked up his first stakes winner in a big way on Nov. 26 when Reliable Source rolled to an eight-length victory in the $100,000 Zia Park Princess S.
The Three Chimneys Farm LLC homebred is one of Volatile’s five stakes horses this year. Volatile also has 22 individual winners thus far in 2024, second-most of any freshman sire. Volatile has sired 4 new Stakes horses in two weeks including, RELIABLE SOURCE, who captured the Zia Park Princess Stakes by 8 lengths in a swift 1:08.29!
Reliable Source shipped from Kentucky to New Mexico for Tuesday’s six-furlong race. She came away well and was in a three-way battle for the early lead. She took command before entering the home stretch and kicked away with authority in the final furlong to get the distance in a snappy 1:08.29.
Reliable Source is now 2-1-0 in four starts, with earnings of $138,400. Her only off the board finish came over a sloppy racetrack in the Spinaway S. (G1) at Saratoga.
