Champion Will Take Charge’s first yearlings of the summer auction season at Tuesday’s Fasig-Tipton July Sale in Kentucky included a $175,000 colt out of the Grade-1 placed mare Battlefield Angel.

Warrendale Sales consigned the colt, hip No. 196. The chestnut yearling is the first foal out of his dam, who is a half-sister to Lookin At Lee, the runner-up in this year’s Kentucky Derby (G1).

Will Take Charge’s average for the sale was $137,500, the second-highest average for any first-crop sire represented at the sale.
