Palace Malice’s first crop of foals have arrived this spring, with accolades for the offspring of the Belmont S. (G1) and Metropolitan Mile (G1) winner.

Palace Malice was one of the most prolific first year stallions of 2016 in North America, breeding to 158 reported mares. In addition to his two dynamic Grade 1 wins, the son of two-time Horse of the Year Curlin won the Gulfstream Park H. (G2), New Orleans H. (G2) and Jim Dandy S. (G2) while earning nearly $2.7 million.

“We have been very impressed with the quality of his foals. He is getting good sized, athletic foals with excellent depth and strong limbs,” said Three Chimneys’ Director of Stallion Nominations and Sales Grant Williamson.

Palace Malice’s first arrivals include a filly bred by Three Chimneys out of With Flying Colors (pictured), a regally-bred daughter of A. P. Indy out of My Flag, dam of champion Storm Flag Flying and a daughter of Hall of Famers Easy Goer and Personal Ensign.

Another youngster bred by Three Chimneys is a filly out of Ekati’s Phaeton, winner of the Davona Dale S. (G2) and Old Hat S. (G3). This is her first foal.

Joseph La Combe Stables reported a Palace Malice colt out of their mare Tale of Glory, the first foal out of of the Tale of the Cat mare who is a half-sister to Kentucky Cup Juvenile Fillies winner Charming Vixen.

Palace Malice is standing this year at Three Chimneys for a fee of $20,000 stands and nurses.
