Disruptor blazed his way to a 9 ¼-length maiden special weight win March 1 at Gulfstream Park, earning the Triple Crown-nominated son of Gun Runner a ‘TDN Rising Star’ nod.

Disruptor is the 17th horse by Gun Runner to earn the honor, joining the likes of Echo Zulu, Sierra Leone and Locked, who won the Santa Anita H. (G1) on Saturday as well.

Disruptor was away in good order in the seven-furlong affair, racing three-wide down the backstretch while within easy striking distance of the leaders. He advanced steadily on the turn to take the lead outside the quarter pole, then galloped away from the field under a hand ride.

Trained by Todd Pletcher for Repole Stable, Spendthrift Farm LLC, Big Easy Racing LLC, Titletown Racing LLC, Winners Win, Golconda Stable, Ali Goodrich and Mark Parkinson, Disruptor sold to his ownership group for $1.15 million at the 2023 Keeneland September Yearling sale.

The chestnut colt was bred by Runnymede Farm, LLC and Peter J. Callahan and is out of Margate Gardens, who is a full sister to multiple graded winner Bridgetown.
