Please Advise came from some eight lengths back at the top of the stretch to score a dramatic win Saturday’s Atlantic Beach S. over the Aqueduct outer turf course.
The 2-year-old Palace Malice colt had previously placed in the $500,000 Juvenile Sprint S. at Kentucky Downs in September. Saturday’s win, his first in a stakes, upped his earnings to $191,418 for R. A. Hill Stable.
For Palace Malice, Please Advise is his second stakes winner in the past week, following Brocknardini’s win in the $150,000 Selima S. on Sept. 30.
Please Advise broke very well in Saturday’s six-furlong race and was actually in a five-way battle for the top spot in the first sixteenth. He fell back off the hot early pace, then lost more ground as the field rounded the turn. He began to make up ground with a quarter-mile to run, then kicked into high gear at the top of the stretch. He came flying up the rail, then swung around pacesetter Works for Me in the final sixteenth to win by a neck in 1:09.39 on the firm turf.
Please Advise was bred in Kentucky by Spartan Team Investments LLC and is one of nine winners out of Amansara, who is also the dam of stakes winner and multiple stakes placed Siem Riep.
Palace Malice, winner of the Belmont S. (G1) and Metropolitan H. (G1), will stand for $7,500 S&N in 2024.
