Three-year-old D R C’s Pretty Sky earned her first stakes win Saturday at Prairie Meadows with a game half-length score in $65,000 Goldfinch S., her 2016 stakes debut.
The daughter of Sky Mesa was stakes-placed last year at two and has been off the board only twice in her 10 lifetime outings. She is Sky Mesa’s third stakes winner in April alone, and one of his 10 stakes horses in 2016.
D R C’s Pretty Sky made the winning move about half-way through the six furlong contest, coming from third to first with a three-wide move, then holding off the late charge of Lovable Lyss to stop the timer in 1:10.75 on a sloppy main track.
The winner is owned by Danny Caldwell and upped her earnings to $143,276. She was bred in Kentucky by John Oxley.
