The Tuesday session of the Keeneland September Yearling sale featured Will Take Charge’s top-priced yearling to date in 2017, a $500,000 colt purchased by John Oxley.

Denali Stud consigned hip No. 331, a Kentucky-bred colt out of House of Danzing, also the dam of Grade 1 winner and track record-setter Twirling Candy, as well as Del Mar Derby (G2) winner Ethnic Dance and Spiral S. (G3) winner Dubai Sky.

A short time later, hip No. 345, consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, went to Colts Neck Stable, LLC for $400,000. The colt is the second foal out of Grade 1-placed Indulgence.

Will Take Charge leads all 2017 First-Crop sires by yearling sales average, with 16 lots sold at an average of $260,000.

Will Take Charge has a total of 65 lots cataloged in the Keeneland sale, which runs through Sept. 23.
